Picnique de l'Ecole Internationale

Dear Family and Friends,

Our vacation to the States is now well behind us and life has returned to whatever norm we had before we left. We very much appreciated the opportunities we had to visit with family, re-connect with friends, and eat familiar foods.

The kids have started school in the new buildings of the international school, which are a great improvement from the facilities used by the school previously. Julie has enrolled all three in cantine one day a week, which allows the kids to stay at school during lunch. This gives Julie at least one day when she only has to drive to and from school once.

This Saturday, the Parents Association of the International School held a picnic in a park in Manosque. Many of the people that Julie has gotten to know over the past year were there as were many of the firends of the kids.

Both Nicolas and Elyse ran the three-legged races. Nicolas got a red and white ribbon for coming in first and second. Elyse's accolates were more modest; for her efforts she only received "a couple of dumb stickers."

After the picnic, we decided to go down to Aix en Provence for dinner. Once parked, we made our way through the downtown to the sidewalk cafes.

Our brave little eater Elyse decided to try the local provencal olives.

Nathaniel followed Elyse's lead, but was less than impressed.

After diner, we went to a near-by patisserie (pastery shop) for a quick dessert and then rested at an old fountain.

A Prochaine Fois (until next time)!

Joe, Julie, Nicolas, Elyse, and Nathaniel
